About this resource

In Commentary on Esther, William Doolin follows the story of a Jewish maiden who marries a Persian king and is providentially used to deliver the Jews from destruction. The study considers the historical setting, the events surrounding Esther and Mordecai, and the preservation of the Jewish people.

God's providential dealings form a central theme. Doolin explores how the Lord works behind the scenes to protect and preserve His people, even though the words God and Lord do not appear in the book of Esther. The commentary also considers prophetic connections and practical lessons for the Bible student.

The volume includes an introduction, studies of all ten chapters of Esther, and a bibliography. Scripture quotations are from the King James Bible unless otherwise noted.

William R. Doolin is also the author of Book of Ruth Commentary. His author biography records ministry in jails, nursing homes, and on the streets of Tallahassee, Florida, beginning in 2009.

Published by Trust House Publishers. Paperback, 180 pages, 5.5 x 8.5 inches. ISBN 978-1-945774-57-7.
